Mark Cuban: Elon Musk Will Show Everyone Who Is in Charge
Mark Cuban is a fan of Elon Musk's Twitter acquisition.
The world's richest man completed his $44 billion purchase of the social-media platform on Thursday after a months-long back-and-forth.
Cuban, a billionaire entrepreneur, celebrated on Twitter, tweeting that he was "looking forward" to the Elon Musk era.
"He is a ready, fire, aim entrepreneur who will truly enjoy fucking with everyone who has an expectation of him," Cuban said. "The only expectation you can have of @elonmusk is that he will flex his independence to show everyone who's in charge."
Cuban said in 2020 that he had bought more stake in Twitter, saying that he is a "long-term holder there."
"I owned shares going into this decline," Cuban said, regarding the stock market's tumble amid the pandemic. "I don't know what's going to happen or when, but I think long-term we'll be okay."
Cuban said in a since-deleted tweet in April, when Musk first announced he was looking to buy Twitter, that he was "very surprised" by the move and that Musk was "on the clock."
He also tweeted in April, in response to Musk's initial offer, that "every major tech company" was "on the phone with their anti trust lawyers asking if they can buy Twitter and get it approved."
"And Twitter is on the phone with their lawyers asking which can be their white knight," he added. "Gonna be interesting."
Musk didn't take long to put his stamp on Twitter, firing several executives, including CEO Parag Agrawal.
