Guntner showcases its new evaporative condenser
The ECOSS evaporative condenser developed by Güntner Brazil perfectly complements this portfolio. ECOSS was developed for cooling applications in industrial refrigeration, air conditioning, energy and process cooling.
The concept meets the specific requirements of these sectors and presents an elaborate solution for current challenges like water quality, passivation and oxidation.
Self- passivating stainless steel obviates oxidation and provides a significantly longer product life than galvanized steel, while the stainless steel coils and fully welded stainless steel cold water basins uphold the high quality standard expected of Guntner units.
ECOSS units were tested in an EC LAB according to Ashrae 64 standard. The tests showed that the performance ratings are also in accordance with CTI requirements.
Easy installation
The units are delivered as separate coil section and basin. The modular frame design with high torsional stiffness ensures the sections remain perfectly intact during transportation.
Due to the approximately 50 per cent less rigging weight compared to conventional designs, a smaller crane is required for assembly.
No further tools are needed for assembly; the box sections allow for trouble-free alignment without sealer tape, drift pins or screw tappers.
The frame profile and panels fit tightly together with a structural inter-locking design. Customers can choose the option for factory pre-wired and/or parameterized (EC fans) direct-driven fans to enjoy a hassle-free installation at site.
The basin design for the ECOSS incorporates a depressed trough welded to inclined outer sections which results in a lower water volume within the basin section.
This funneled design also allows for any dirt, sediment etc. to naturally flow towards the strainer. It means 50 per cent less water in circulation, which means there is less water to treat in comparison to other designs.
As facilities attempt to minimize water volume used in cooling, the softening of make-up water has become more common, as has allowing equipment to operate at higher cycles of concentration.
The Güntner ECOSS evaporative condenser with stainless steel coil, frame, basin and cabinet, allows for operation at higher cycles of concentration when compared to a galvanized coil and casing construction, which means less overall water consumption, less water blowdown, and less chemical treatment. There is also no zinc or lead in the blowdown discharge.
All AC and EC fans that are available for the ECOSS are high efficiency, direct drive axial fans. For all unit types, specifically adapted controllers developed by Güntner are also available. Especially for speed controlled applications, the combination of EC fans with the respective Güntner Motor Management fan control offers a larger variety of benefits.
Advanced fan technology with a state of the art GMM (Güntner Motor Management) controller provides superior performance and superior efficiency. Plus, there is less overall water consumption and chemical treatment as the stainless steel construction allows for higher cycles of concentration and reduced blow down.
Besides high operational reliability, ECOSS offers additional advantages to reduce maintenance costs. Stainless steel design, hinged fan nozzles and a stepped basin design located on the side of the unit are just some of the features which make the Güntner ECOSS evaporative condenser a preference to service and maintain.
The advantages of the Güntner ECOSS evaporative condenser are too numerous to be specified all at once. For a comprehensive overview of all features of the newest product in the Güntner Group portfolio, go to http://www.guentner.asia/ecoss.
