DW60 dishwasher by Asko

Dezeen Showroom: sustainability, performance and hygiene meet in the DW60 dishwasher by Swedish brand Asko, which says its appliance is the most reliable in its class.

The DW60 dishwasher is designed to last for 20 years of continuous use, thanks to its steel container, loading racks and spray arms – plastic is used for these parts in most dishwashers.

This is part of a sustainability strategy that also sees the machine feature an adaptive Green mode, which calculates the optimal temperature and amount of water for the dirtiness of the load, and an Auto Dose system that similarly adjusts the amount of detergent to minimise the environmental footprint.

The DW60 boasts a tall loading height and big load capacity so it is flexible enough to accommodate even large dishes, and the combination of two drying systems – including an Auto Door Open Drying system that automatically opens the door to finish the process with warm indoor air – ensures that all dishes are dry in the shortest possible time.

Among the hygiene innovations is a UV Cleanse mode that uses UV light to eliminate 99.9 per cent of bacteria, fungi and viruses, meaning that dishes will be fully cleaned even after a low-temperature Eco cycle.

There is also a special hygiene programme for when disinfection needs are extra high, and there are Self-cleaning and Anti-odour functions for cleaning the appliance.
